The Fonzell Center has teamed up with Omnitrans. You can now get your Omnitrans passes at the Center. Get your 1 day and 7 day passes for seniors/disable, youth, adults and veterans.

A socially engaged art program designed to help with expressing your feelings, emotions and unwelcome thoughts through art. Designed to support positive thoughts and creative outreach to combat negativity such as citizen arrest, violence, and thoughts of suicide.  To sign up, please call us.

Don't have a car? No problem - we can assist you with free bus tokens for your transportation needs such as, employment , shopping, medical appointment or more. To see if you qualify, please contact us. Servicing participants in the Los Angeles County area ONLY.

Understanding Depression

Depression is a very somber issue, but have no fear help is near.

Depression is feeling sad and depressed for weeks or months on end. This feeling is most often accompanied by feelings of hopelessness, a lack of energy (or feeling “weighed down”), and taking little or no pleasure in things that gave you joy in the past.

Common symptoms and signs of depression include:
– Persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” feelings
– Feelings of hopelessness or pessimism
– Feelings of guild, worthlessness, or helplessness
– Irritability or restlessness
– Loss of interest in activities or hobbies once pleasurable
– Fatigue and decreased energy
– Insomnia or excessive sleeping
– Overeating or appetite loss
